I had the most wonderful experience of my first Iftar at the world- class Cavalli Caffe. Located opposite of Jumeirah Beach Residence in the heart of The Beach. The cafe has a huge al fresco dining area. You can tell that the design reflects the glamour of Roberto Cavalli. I love the photo wall and especially the chocolate corner!
For their Iftar offer we were given a four course meal which for our table shared some of it. The lady was so lovely. She waited for our order and quickly served us the first appetiser that comes with nuts, dates, and figs. So you can tell that they have incorporated Italian with Arabic twist. The lady recommended me to try the tamarind drink which I really enjoyed. I love tamarind and it’s very big in the Philippines.
Next we had the hummus with focaccia and it was lovely. We shared most of the appetisers to try like the breaded mozzarella and anchovies, bruschetta and the quinoa salad.
For the main course I had the pan-fried salmon fillet with tomato concasse, capers and citrus glaze. It was absolutely fantastic! It was cooked perfectly and the flavours are bursting in my mouth. I suddenly thought of bringing Ricky there next time as it is his favourite.
The pizza comes with provolone, parmesan, mozzarella and za’atar. And for my favourite of all time is the desert rose water and vanilla panna cotta! I’m not a fan of rose water but this one exceeded my expectation. It was beautifully presented with the crispy rose on top. Just the right amount of sweetness which I really like and it melts in my mouth. I remembered feeling too stuffed that I felt bad for leaving a bit of the desert though.
That was so far the best Iftar experience I had. The quality of the food is world-class made with love – the Italian way.
So for Italian food lovers out there I definitely recommend Cavalli Caffe for you to try out this month before the Iftar offer is finished.
