As lovely as ever our boss treated the team for a posh afternoon tea at the Fortnum & Mason in the Dubai Mall. In celebration of Shaye’s birthday and at the same time our sort of mini Christmas party. I pass along this area many times and have never paid so much attention. I am so gutted that I missed visiting the shop when I was in London.
Fortnum & Mason is an iconic British symbol, established in 1707 by William Fortnum and Hugh Mason. It is a department store and a tea shop. I love the Victorian style and details of the shop… very British!
We ordered their famous afternoon tea set that comes with finger sandwiches, scones and a selection of tea cakes. The scones are to die for! The cream that comes with it and the wild blueberry jam – oh it was heaven. I really enjoyed the mini sandwiches, my favourite is the Cucumber and Mint Butter. All are made to perfection! The tea as well smells amazing, not your ordinary tea you can get anywhere.
I say this is the best afternoon tea I have tried although Burj Al Arab was still amazing with their bubbly drinks. Ha! I can’t wait to go back with the girlfriends!
