East Kitchen JLT Dubai

There are plenty of Asian restaurants popping out everywhere and it’s quite hard to pick those ones that are budget friendly and at the same time offers great quality of food.

Tucked in the heart of Jumeirah Lakes Towers is a new found gem called East Kitchen. It offers Asian cuisine with a twist of modern European touch.  The restaurant has a laid back feel with a Japanese’ minimalist style. It has long tables which is perfect for big groups.

The lady was lovely. She escorted us to our seats near the wall that has a sign that says, “Refresh your karma”. The open kitchen is really inviting. You’ll get to see chefs create delicious and colourful food.

For starters we had Edamame, it’s a steamed green soy beans. I forgot to take a picture. I remembered getting burnt because it was steaming hot and me being impatient.

Next, we had the vegetable spring rolls. The dip was amazing – Thai sweet chili sauce. It compliments really well. The main course arrived sooner than expected. We had green thai curry, chicken satay, Singaporean noodles and the colourful sushi platter. You see, I am not a fan of sushi but I eat the ones without the raw fish in it. So I had the avocado sushi instead which is now my favourite! Ricky though had devoured the whole sushi plate.

The curry was nice as well. It has a lovely creamy taste and a bit tangy. I was beginning to feel stuffed but I still managed to try their chicken satay which was lovely too. And for my favourite part, the banana spring rolls for desert. It’s a banana wrapped in a crispy spring rolls with caramel sauce. This you should not miss!

East Kitchen is open during lunch time for the whole month of Ramadan and they do deliveries too! So if you live in JLT, this should be one of your choices for your Asian fix.
